17-The Bridge over The River Kwai Tour in Kanchanaburi – Private Day Tour
Escape the hustle and the bustle of Bangkok with a 1-day trip to the city and province of Kanchanaburi, home of many spoilt nature spots. During this private day trip from Bangkok, I will show you around Kanchanaburi and River Kwai while you experience everything through the eyes of a local. After I pick you up from your hotel, we’ll head towards Kanchanaburi by A/C van with private driver. Enjoy the ride through the beautiful scenery and listen to stories I have prepared for you and your group. Our first stop will be at the Don Chedi battlefield where King Nares and the Crowned Prince of Burma had their famous long broadsword duel on elephants. This is a good story to hear because it has a great relevance to both Thai and regional history. Next, depending on your preferences you can choose between enjoying a visit to Thailand’s biggest cinematic studio or, the Khmer Sanctuary where you can learn about the ancient Khmer empire. We’ll continue our way towards River Kwai, where we will visit two very special sites with historical relevance to World War II: the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery and Death WWII War Museum. Of course, our final activity will be a walk across the famous River Kwai bridge together under Sunset. During the trip I’ll make sure that you don’t stay hungry, so we’ll also enjoy a delicious local lunch together by the River Kwai! Let me take you through the history of this strategic town and its relevance through its timeline. Looking forward to meeting you in beautiful Bangkok soon!
